BACKGROUND: Closing arguments in the federal Perry v Schwarzenegger case are scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. in Chief Judge Vaughn Walker’s courtroom, 450 Golden Gate Avenue, San Francisco. The case, which was filed in May 2009 and began in January 2010, will decide the constitutionality of Proposition 8 and the protection of marriage between a man and a woman. It was supported by 7 million California voters in 2008.
